Contract of Employment
This Contract of Employment is issued in accordance with the Employment Rights Act 1996.
Between:

1. Commencement of Employment
1.1 Your employment with the Employer will commence on [START DATE].
1.2 No previous employment counts as part of your continuous period of employment with the Employer.
2. Nature of Employment
2.1 You are employed as an employee of the Employer. This contract establishes an employment relationship between the parties and does not create an independent contractor, freelancer, or agency arrangement.
2.2 You shall be entitled to all statutory employment rights and benefits as provided by applicable legislation, including but not limited to the Employment Rights Act 1996, the Equality Act 2010, and the Working Time Regulations 1998.
3. Job Title and Duties
3.1 You are employed as [JOB TITLE]. Your duties may be amended from time to time as reasonably required by the Employer.
3.2 You shall devote your full time, attention, and abilities to the business of the Employer during working hours.
3.3 You shall comply with all reasonable instructions given to you by the Employer and observe all company policies and procedures.
3.4 You shall not, without the prior written consent of the Employer, engage in any other business or employment during the term of this contract.
4. Place of Work
4.1 Your normal place of work is [EMPLOYER ADDRESS], or such other location as the Employer may reasonably require.
4.2 You may be required to travel within the United Kingdom from time to time in the performance of your duties.
5. Salary
5.1 Your gross annual salary is [SALARY], payable monthly in arrears on or before the last working day of each calendar month by bank transfer, subject to deductions for income tax, National Insurance contributions, and any other statutory or agreed deductions.
5.2 Your salary will be reviewed annually by the Employer, though there is no obligation to increase it.
6. Hours of Work
6.1 Your normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, unless otherwise agreed. The exact working pattern will be agreed with your line manager.
6.2 You may be required to work additional hours as reasonably necessary for the proper performance of your duties. You agree that the limit of an average of 48 hours per week imposed by the Working Time Regulations 1998 shall not apply to your employment, unless you give the Employer three months' written notice withdrawing this agreement.
7. Probationary Period
7.1 Your employment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period of 3 months.
7.2 During the probationary period, the Employer may terminate your employment by giving one week's written notice.
7.3 The Employer reserves the right to extend the probationary period by up to a further three months if it considers this necessary.
8. Holiday Entitlement
8.1 You are entitled to 28 days' paid holiday per calendar year (inclusive of public and bank holidays). The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
8.2 Holiday dates must be approved in advance by your line manager.
8.3 Unused holiday cannot be carried forward to the next holiday year except with the prior written agreement of the Employer.
8.4 On termination of employment, you will be entitled to payment in lieu of any accrued but unused holiday, or the Employer may require you to take any outstanding holiday during your notice period.
9. Sickness Absence
9.1 If you are absent from work due to illness or injury, you must notify the Employer as soon as reasonably practicable on the first day of absence.
9.2 For absences of seven consecutive days or fewer, you must complete a self-certification form upon your return.
9.3 For absences exceeding seven consecutive days, you must provide a fit note (Statement of Fitness for Work) from your GP.
9.4 You will be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in accordance with the applicable legislation.
10. Pension
10.1 The Employer operates a workplace pension scheme in compliance with the automatic enrolment requirements of the Pensions Act 2008. You will be automatically enrolled in the scheme if you meet the eligibility criteria.
10.2 Details of the pension scheme will be provided to you separately.
11. Confidentiality
11.1 You shall not, during or after your employment, disclose to any person, firm, or company any confidential information relating to the business, finances, clients, or affairs of the Employer.
11.2 This obligation shall not apply to any information that is already in the public domain through no fault of your own, or that is required to be disclosed by law.
11.3 Upon termination of employment, you shall return all property, documents, and materials belonging to the Employer.
12. Notice Period
12.1 After the probationary period, either party may terminate this employment by giving not less than 1 month written notice.
12.2 The Employer reserves the right to make a payment in lieu of notice.
12.3 The Employer may summarily terminate your employment without notice in the event of gross misconduct.
13. Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures
13.1 The Employer's disciplinary and grievance procedures are set out in the Employee Handbook, which does not form part of this contract.
13.2 If you wish to raise a grievance relating to your employment, you should follow the procedure set out in the Employee Handbook.
14. Data Protection
14.1 The Employer will process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
14.2 Details of how your personal data is processed are set out in the Employer's privacy notice for employees.
15. Governing Law
This contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
